B-Kay & Kazz Biography
18/04/2008 By Management
B-Kay & Kazz are 2 brothers who came onto the international music scene in 2006. The boys, who are singers/songwriters originally come from Southern Africa and have been performing together since they were just 3 and 7 years old. The duo released their first album in 2005, with their hit single “Ndikati Hello” going straight to number one in the music charts in Zimbabwe and South Africa. The video of this single, shared this popularity and success gaining number one position on MTV Base South Africa www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UyEm9ac5jY
Following this success the duo moved to the UK in 2006 to further their musical career on the international scale, with the support of their loyal fan base in Southern Africa to make an impact on the UK music scene.
Currently located in Milton Keynes, the ambitious duo found resounding success in winning the national competition for original artists, Live and Unsigned, in 2007. The boys competed with over 10,000 other talented acts, dominated auditions and heats of semi and regional finals and consequently won the overall Grand National Final in London. The boys performed at a level which astounded high profile celebrities judging the competition such as Liz McClarnon (Atomic Kitten), Dane Bowers (Another Level), Lee Latchford Evans (Steps) & Brian Harvey (East 17) who were all unanimous in their vote for B-Kay & Kazz as the best performers of the night.
The duo are now well on their way to international acclaim as musicians in their own right, reflecting a vast range of music genre’s within their repertoire. BKay and Kazz have topped the Indie store charts consistently since the beginning of the year and have been regular performers at top R & B Club ‘Buddha Blue’. They appeal to a range of listeners, Bkay and Kazz possess their own unique style, largely influenced by a range of R & B and Hip Hop. Their material also embraces the sound of the soul ballad, mixing this with a reggae/raga flavour - a true vocal extravaganza.
B-Kay and Kazz are currently on tour supporting acts such as Omarion, Nathan, Liberty X, Sean Kingston & Lemar as well as playing over 200 dates around the UK. The boys impressed crowds at the Bowood Festival when they performed to a 10,000 strong crowd supporting Liberty X in aid of Wiltshire’s Crimestoppers.
The duet have been busy in the studio recording their album, which includes their debut self written single ‘You know its right’, being released July 7th. The boys have high hopes of being the first unsigned act to reach the top ten in the UK with this seductive ‘ear pleasing’ number.
