Band bio
07/01/2008 By Broken Records
Broken Records formed in December 2006 in Edinburgh, Scotland, by seven multi-instrumentalists. Using a range of instruments including guitars, bass, violin, cello, accordion, mandolin, piano, trumpet, glockenspiel and drums, they create a sound combining traditional European folk with modern Scottish alternative music. 2007 has been a busy year for the band thus far with 60 gigs including live sessions on BBC Radio One and BBC 6 Music, being voted Best of the T Break Stage at T in the Park, and headlining a sold-out show at The Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh (750 capacity). They have supported Idlewild, The Twilight Sad, Emma Pollock, and Peggy Sue and the Pirates. At the beginning of August they mixed their self-titled debut EP at Chamber Studio in Edinburgh and mixed Nearly Home at Sub Station studio in Rosyth. All were mastered by Allan Cuthbertson at Terminal Music in Glasgow.

This is great music. Keep it going. Can imagine it would be a cracking live experience. Nice to hear violin in there - shades of the Velvets in places. Best of luck. Paul
