New album hits the airwaves
30/10/2008 By Eric Maddern
'Rare and Precious Earth', my new album of original eco-songs, finally arrived yesterday. Eight boxes worth! I'm very pleased with it. The cover is beautiful, it has a 20-page full colour booklet with pictures, all the words and stories of how the songs were written. Some songs are strongly issue based, like the rock-inspired 'Shop and Buy', available on indiestore.com. Others lean toward classic folk, like 'Eagles of Eriskay', also on indiestore. And then there are the visionary anthems which include 'Long Time Coming', on indiestore too.
It's early days but the album has already had some rave reviews, including one by Frank Hennessy, presenter of 'Celtic Heartbeat' on BBC Radio Wales, who said: "I think he's terrific! He's written some wonderful stuff and I really do like this album, 'Rare and Precious Earth'. The subtitle is 'Songs to Sustain and Restore the World.' It's a big job but he's the man to do it!"
For how to buy copies of the full CD visit www.ericmaddern.co.uk
Hope you enjoy the songs. Let me know what you think.
Eric

Hi Azalya, I'm delighted that you enjoyed your time at Cae Mabon, and hope you're enjoying the album. There are times when Cae Mabon in open to visitors who aren't involved in a workshop or course. I call them 'Open Weeks'. There's usually one or two a year. Alternatively, we have a 'Working Party' each spring. I'm currently putting together next year's programme so keep checking www.caemabon.co.uk. Best wishes Eric.
