THE FUTURE OF PROGRESSIVE METAL
BECOMES A PROPHECY FOR SEAN GARRETT
Vancouver, British Columbia. Blending metal influences from bands like Queensryche to early Metallica and compared to System Of A Down, Tea Party, Dream Theatre, & Pink Floyd, Vancouver’s Garrett resurrects a new breed of progressive metal with their latest release titled Prophecy. A multi-talented singer-songwriter, musician and producer, lead vocalist Sean Garrett delivers an intensive and captivating catalogue of songs that compel the listener to go deep into his world of Middle Eastern influence, lyrical imagery and impassioned vocal prowess that hasn’t been heard or seen in Vancouver in a long time.
A CD release party unlike any other is set for June 5, 8:00 pm at the Anza Club located at 3, West 8th Avenue. This show is not for the weak of heart as it combines elements of a theatrical progressive rock performance with an aggressive high octane band featuring, Andrew Lorimer, keyboards; Skip Prest, guitar; Frank Baker, drums and of course Sean on bass & vocals that will ensure a solid night of entertainment. Born in New Westminster, BC to a musical family Sean's love for all things musical began at an early age. Since his start Sean has demonstrated his abilities as both an accomplished vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. His long time collaboration with keyboardist Andy Lorimer (Simon Kaos, Prism) led to the release of “The Song Will Live On” under the band name Zen Archer. The CD gained quite the notoriety and is now a rare collectible. He was most recently voted #1 top male vocalist in Garageband’s, “Alternative Rock Reviewers Picks” for “Remember My Name,” from his latest CD Prophecy. Sean was also voted Best Male Vocals in Modern Rock for “Monkey” and voted “Best Mood” and “Most Original” in Modern Rock.
Sean studied under the late legendary Maestro David P. Kyle. It was here he learned to master the techniques which have given his voice endurance, power and the ability to bridge the Passagio. Other notable artists to study under Kyle include Ann Wilson of Heart, Geoff Tate of Queensryche, Kenny G and the late Lane Stanley of Alice in Chains. A Prophecy maybe a prediction of something better to come and when you see and hear Sean and his band Garrett, you will no doubt believe that their prophecy is coming true.
