The Sound Of The Summer 2008

Late 2006, a demo version of ‘Big Blue Sky’ impressed enough to receive airplay on BBC radio. Mark Radcliffe and Dermot O’Leary played the track repeatedly on their Radio 2 shows.
Dermot quickly became a Jay Davies fan and asked him into the studio for an interview and live session. Aside from the now in demand ‘Big Blue Sky’, Jay played an awesome version of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Atlantic City’.
Further to the interview, Jay Davies was invited to work with Brighton record producer Al Scott, who had already produced albums for the Eliza Carthy, the Levellers and Asian Dub Foundation.
At long last, ‘Big Blue Sky’ has received the attention it rightly deserves. A great song is now a great single - the record of Summer 2008.
