Think Ian Dury and Tom Waits mixed in with a bit of Mike Skinner and Lily Allen with a dash of Madness.

In with the Old and Out with the New
08/07/2008 09:40:43 By Jonny
On my way to work this morning, something dawned on me that's been troubling my mind for quite a while. (The realisation came to me whilst reading the Metro - a first of its kind) Up until now my head's been a mess trying to work out what's going on with my life, work and most importantly my music. When I used to play, for those who remember the acoustic shows, it was amazing. I mean amazing in the sense of getting lost in the performance. It was a release that for some reason the shows with the band don't deliver in the same way on such a personal level for me. Playing acoustic shows is like being naked in front of someone for the first time - its both nerve racking, intense and exhilarating all at the same time and I really miss that fix.
I've recently been receiving emails from various folk asking me when I'm going to start playing the acoustic shows of old and I decided that the answer to that is now. I have been working on a new EP that is firmly attached to the grass roots of my original songs, style and flow. Once described as the Troubadour of Acoustic Hip Hop I feel that I have drifted, in a positive way with Red Handed and have come full circle to start to explore again what I really love.
I apologise if you have not heard any of my older songs, and I hope that you will like it. Please don't worry though (if you were), as the bands not going anywhere. Red Handed is a massive part of me and the band is in the process of writing a new album.
Its quite refreshing to finally know what I want to do.
And in turn, I'm slightly parched so it's off to the drinks machine for a 7up.
Quench the thirst.

Man Flu
10/04/2008 15:27:15 By Jonny
I have to say that us guys always get abuse from women when it comes to being ill. I mean its slightly unfair that women seem to be able to work, rest, run a house hold etc whilst suffering from a very obvious bad bad cold. I mean head aches, sore limbs, bad throats the lot. So why does flu hit men harder? Anyone know the answer. I say this as I have just been ill with Flu and its taken at least 4 days with 3 off work to get better? Anyone no? would love an answer!

The Joys of Monday, written on tuesday
01/04/2008 10:21:31 By Jonny
Yesterday was awful! I have not done a big weekend like that for a while- not used to the 7am bed times 2 days in a row. On Monday I felt disgusting. Sitting at work, not doing enough feeling like my head was going to explode. I can tell I'm getting older and I dont like it! Even this morning it was hard to get out of bloody bed! I'm not so sure if this is a blog or a rant or both or whether a blog is a rant... hum... far to complex for this early hour. I hope your week's started better than mine! Have a great day. J
