Gary Marlowe is finishing his score to "Heisse Spur" (working title), adaptation of Linda Howard’s bestselling U.S. novel, "Cry No More".
Musical special guest appearances include Laura B. (London), Alessandro de
Crescenzo (Milano), Ben Mono (Berlin), Cecil Remmler (Boston) and
Alberto Roveroni (Milano).
Directed by Marcus O. Rosenmüller, the film has a U.S./Chilenian/German
cast with "C.S.I". actor Matt Bataglia and German actress Christine
Neubauer in the lead roles. A prime time television movie, produced by
Ziegler Film for German National TV ZDF, "Heisse Spur" will be
broadcast in two parts, in October 2009.

Chris Coco follows the development of Chillout, from it's classical origins through to the present day.
The journey takes him from 19th Century Paris, through to the 21st Century beach bars of Ibiza, Amsterdam's Supper Clubs, England's Malvern Hills and back to the contemporary Paris chillout scene.
Chris talks to Jose Padilla, the man widely regarded as the spiritual father of the genre, whose session tapes sound-tracking the setting sun over Cafe del Mar, turned into the popular compilation series.
The programme also features contributions from Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream, and former Art of Noise member Paul Morley, as well as a laid-back soundtrack [http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/musicclub/doc_chilloutsoundtrack.shtml] to set the mood.

Yep. I'm back from the MONUMENTAL Event in France with a big smile on my face: I played a live set at sunrise on midsummer's day ( 5:30 am) in one of the most beautiful locations in France, surrounded by a wild outdoor art exhibition of sculptures, statues, banners, spray can deco on a van, wood carving and more creations with no name yet, accompanied by Dan Liotier , an awesome acrobat-equilibrist who performed the most romantic and dramatic routine on chinese masts over my music, the whole set up overlooking a lake located in the middle of near deserted mountains... people were in awe: listening, dancing, shouting, filming, dreaming etc... The sun rose 20 mins late because of the mountains surrounding us but that gave me more time to play more tunes. What a very special event ! The atmosphere was beautiful chilled and joyful and reminded me so much of the Big Chill in Naxos and other blissed out events I've been lucky to play at over the last few years. Big up to L'Attribut de Vaillargues for putting it together, it's all kicking off over there. Stay tuned ...

Summer Solstice Sunrise Set at MONUMENTAL this week end

I'm playing a Summer Solstice Sunrise Set at the 'MONUMENTAL' exhibition in the south of France, I know the organisers and this promises to be one of the very best parties of the summer. This is the opening of a new exhibition of larger than life sculptures all set int he open air, with music, food, wine and performances all round. I've just spoken to Jean-Francois Caudry one of the organisers and he said the guys are building a gorilla made of 14 gaz bottles and a concrete mixer with 200 baguettes for hair ! Also there might be some tight rope performed while I play, I'll post photos this is gonna be awesome.

Telefuzz, Upstairs Recordings, these are names that spell quality music from the far away Vancouver. We met at the big Chill and have been collaborating for a few years now, I can't recommend their output highly enough. They have just released a new compilation of exclusives including a remix of my 'Ice Cold Water' by the mighty Telefuzz. This is what the press release says:
This album features 12 tracks [+1 bonus track] by various artists remixing Upstairs Recordings artists and Upstairs Recordings artists remixing fellow artists from other labels. I will be providing the soundtrack to Maria Yassoumi's 'Travel Lite' exhibition at the Art In Basement Gallery at the Foundry in old St next Tuesday the 27th May 08 from 7 till 11. Maria Yassoumi is well known to Big Chillers since she is the artist responsible for the beautiful sculptural lazer installations that have numerous times graced and enlightened the Art's Trail at our favorite summer festival. I am currently working on a project with her, more about that soon. Please come and see her work for yourself in this rare London exhibition at the heart of Shoreditch.

Today I take part in the Dalai Lama-Chinese Embassy Handshake

Some 2000 people will pass a handshake along a human chain through London, to link the Dalai Lama at the Royal Albert Hall to the Chinese Embassy in Portland place. Being a huge advocate of peace I will be one of them. I'll be in section 8 at Hyde Park Corner if any of you make it. No doubt this will make the news tonight, please watch it and see for yourself what it's all about.

The bad news is we didn't win, the good news is we don't care ! We just know that Lovebleeps is the better track period and we don't need a BBC comp to tell us that !

I've had a 'kick arse' Midem

guys and girls, the unexpected has happened : I have been to Midem( not sure how it all happened, went a bit like a dream with me being all of a sudden blessed with the most incredible luck) with Mr. Paul Kramer of the famous Hit Sheet (a magazine about la creme de la creme of the unsigned acts sent out to zillions of labels and publishers worldwide), who thinks my music's brilliant and who has invited me to Midem and singlehandedly introduced me to the leaders of the music industry worldwide over the course of a coupe of days I am speechless ... Each one of them has now a Laura B cd in his or her possession: each one of them will sooner or later listen to Midi A Minuit and I wish them the best with it (same as I do you!)
The feedback is coming they're loving it ! This all happened in a matter of days where I went from looking for a job to much talked about artist at Midem ! I feel I have infiltrated a world I used to think was uncool, and made it better.
To mark the occasion, I'm uploading 'Sloslo' for your ears on myspace, it's one of the tracks that's gaining me a lot of attention. It's also a great all time favorite of M. Pete Lawrence , co founder of the Big Chill Festival and another influential tastemaker in his own right.

Waow, last week I opened my indiestore and 5 days later Midi A Minuit has made it to the indiestore top 5 picks ! and I haven't told anyone anything yet so it's gone up there of it's own musical merit which is wicked, it also proves that indiestore is run by real people who listen to real music and that's double wicked ! Indiestore rocks ! ( mind you it took a lot of research before I chose this site, mostly because most other sites pretend to help indie artists but the reality is they can't be asked to deal with individuals) I think this is it :)
