MAHEDA are an acoustic, electronica, trip hop band that have been likened by the media and the industry to artists such as Massive Attack, Frou Frou, The Postal Service and Goldfrapp.
Based in the city of Bath, England, the band consists of Alex Strasman (Vocals, Piano and Guitar) and Emily Adams (Vocals and Acoustic/Electric Guitar). The duo formed in 2007, and combined their varying influences and musical genres to shape what is now MAHEDA. An eclectic mix of jazz, rock and electronica, has created a fusion of musical ideas that is rare to find in such a small outfit. Since forming the band they have been working on perfecting this sound and have been furiously writing and recording their self-titled album.
The album full of mysterious, enchanting songs that are jam-packed with hooky melodies and intricate beats is already causing a massive stir around the UK. Within the first 2 weeks of release the MAHEDA digital download store was hit with over 100 downloads.
MAHEDA have recently been signed to ‘SoAndSo Management’ who are currently booking dates for their National Tour in Spring 2008 to promote the album.
