Mark Scott (b.1990) is currently a student studying composition at the Birmingham Conservatoire in the heart of England. Mark's compositional output comprises of works for many different ensembles. He has written music for the BackBeat Percussion Quartet, the Bacchus String Quartet, the Chroma String Quartet, flautist Rowland Sutherland, Macclesfield Youth Brass Band, pianist George Lazaridis and others. His music has been performed in a variety of locations such as the Adrian Boult Hall at Birmingham Conservatoire, Winter Gardens at Blackpool and many venues around Manchester.
Mark currently studies with composers Andy Glover and Joe Cutler among others. At Birmingham Conservatoire, Mark gets to take place in many different workshops led by leading ensembles and composers. He has also had composition lessons from Philip Wilby at the International Brass Band Summer School, where he got to play the euphonium under renowned conductors Nicholas and Robert Childs. Mark currently has euphonium lessons from Les Neish of the Fodens Band, based in Sandbach in Cheshire. Mark currently enjoys playing with many different ensembles including brass bands, wind bands and orchestras.
