Released on September 16th, 2008, “Dysnomia Volume One” is an EP by electronic/trip hop duo “the Green”. It is the follow up to their debut album titled Emancipation. Volume One features an expansion on the sound developed by producer/songwriter Carlos Santiago and vocalist/pianist Anne Noel. Featuring Caribic Vibes, Trip Hop Beats, and Dancehall Rythms, the Green venture into new territory vocally and structually. The sound, though a tad stripped down from their previous effort, is more focused on melody than complexity. The beats are broken up on tracks like “A.W.W.O” and “Prayer for Myanmar”, while dancehall big beats takeover on tracks like “Can You Hear Me?” and “Monk Love”. The 6 track offering is the first of two parts. Volume Two is due in Mid-2009.

We are excited to announce that the first single from our new album "Dysnomia Volume One" will launch tonight at midnight CST on our Myspace, Reverbnation and Purevolume sites! "Can You Hear Me?" is a refreshing mix of downtempo dancehall and caribic vibes mixed with the emapassioned vocal delivery of vocalist Anne Noel. We hope you enjoy it!" "This first volume of "Dysnomia" is about rolling with the punches, going with the flow, and putting your own personal issues and strife in perspective. Chances are there is someone out there going through an even harder time than you can ever imagine, so we all need to step back at some point, regroup, and realize that the nature of life itself is inherently lawless, and those who can learn to cope and use their personal experiences as guidance for future encounters will not only better themselves but enrich those around them as well. These types of themes follow suit with the times we live in. There are so many angles of perspective to cover, and I also think that part of the experience of the "Emancipation" album was to get to a point subject matter wise where we were exploring life from a highly open minded and liberated point of view. About the Album Cover Art... The cover to Dysnomia Volume One is an artistic representation of the newly discovered outermost planet of our galaxy, named Eris, which is caddied by it's lone moon Dysnomia. The two bodies were named after the godesses of Lawlessness and Strife, major themes that play to the core of the new album material. In a trying time, where war, natural disasters, and high oil prices and recession worries plague our fragile world, the album takes a look from various vantage points and explores the very personal nature of strife along with the inherently lawless nature of life itself. "As a complete collaborative effort this time around, the music on this album is a direct reflection of our combined viewpoints. We are making songs that move us. I am singing in styles that iv'e been waiting to explore throughout my entire musical journey. As a musician, the unhindered freedom of expression and viewpoints allowed in our writing process has allowed for a great progression for us as a songwriting team. In a sense I feel completely free to be me on this album, and having only taken part in a small part of the writing process on the first album, this, in a sense, is a debut of sorts for our completely mended sound" 6/3/2008 Carlos on the studio process... "We are working with many innovative melodies on this album, really trying to break new ground in electronica as far as it's melodic value goes. It's always fun to work on new material because it allows us to learn a heap of new instruments, plug-ins, and to continue to study and improve on our craft. The current phase of the project is the most fun in my mind, the part where we can take a song that may pass as good and make it great by combining our thoughts and creating something of true value to the ears. This is why you get into music, to leave a unique imprint, and that's what this part of the process allows us the oppurtunity to do." 5/28/2008 Producer/Songwriter Carlos Santiago on the new album... "It's a brand new green experience on this album, there are some familiar elements, but for the most part the arrangements, instrumentation, and beats are going to be very fresh and up to date.
