Let me stand next to your fire

Excitement builds as we approach another Music Box session. This will be the first time in a while, so looking forward to it hugely. The Hendrix covers will definitely have to be dusted down and played in memory of the late, great Mitch Mitchell.

Back in The Box
22/05/2008 00:12:19 By Jez
It's been a while but we got back to Music Box on 11/05/08. Such a long time in fact that it turned out that Mark and co had up sticks and moved the studios a few miles down the road! Whether it was the new surroundings, the excitement of blowing the dust off our instruments or a combination of both, we came away with some promising stuff. We've added a very rough recording of a tune that came out of a trademark mamouth jam - You Came Here. Check it out and let us know what you think. Forgive the odd bum note, but we were making it up as we went along! See you on the other side. Jez.

A Long Good Friday
15/05/2007 22:15:32 By Jez
We had another productive session in Music Box on Good Friday. Predictably it also proved to be one of the hottest days of the year, which tends to be the way when we book a marathon stint in the rehearsal studio. The band is sounding great, but it's just frustrating that we can't prove it in public at the moment. As soon as we iron out the "geographical differences" The Plums will be gigging again. Thanks for your patience and support.

We're busy recording at the moment and hope to have the results for all to hear in a few months. If nohing else, The Plums are never rushed!

Roasted Plums
25/07/2006 08:46:54 By Jez
As previously mentioned, we had tentatively arranged a date for the 5 of us to get back in the rehearsal studio, and by some minor miracle it went ahead on the 15th July. As usual we chose to practice on one of the hottest days of the year – if ever you’re organising a BBQ, check out when we’re next rehearsing and the chances are you’ll have the weather for it. Despite sweating our proverbials off, a good time was had by all and the songs didn’t sound too shabby. We’re hoping to gig in the autumn, but this very much depends on outside commitments, so watch this space.

Out of Hibernation
23/06/2006 08:54:33 By Jez
Although not yet confirmed, July could be the month when The Plums come out of hibernation - or the deep freeze if you will. Although The Ums have been rehearsing regularly (that's 3/5ths of The Plums - get it!), it's been a while since the 5 of us have got together, so great excitement all round.
